About forfoodinfoods
forfoodinfoods is opinionated writing about wings, food culture, and Super Bowl planning.
The site started as a running document I kept for my own Super Bowl wing parties — a running tally of vendors, sauces, ordering rules, and hard-won lessons about what actually works when you're feeding fifteen people during a football game. Eight years of parties later, the document became a public archive.
What you'll find here:
- Wing rankings across NYC, updated as I revisit spots.
- Super Bowl party archives from 2018 forward — what worked, what didn't, what to steal.
- Technique pieces on sauce, frying, style debates, and the tools that actually matter.
- Opinion pieces that don't hedge. This is not a food blog trying to sell you a recipe course.
About the Author
I write under the name Mythical Carbon. I'm based in Nassau County, NY. I've thrown Super Bowl wing parties every year since 2018, tried most of the notable wing spots in the New York area, and now write about all of it. I'm not a chef, not a food critic, and not a restaurant owner — just someone who has eaten enough wings to have opinions.
What This Site Isn't
- Not sponsored. Nobody has ever paid to be on a ranking here.
- Not recipe-forward. There are better places for recipes.
- Not comprehensive. I write about the wings I actually eat.
- Not journalism. This is opinion. I'll be wrong sometimes and you should tell me when.
Editorial Standards
Every ranking on this site is based on visits I've paid for myself. Every technique piece is based on things I've cooked at home. Every Super Bowl party archive is based on parties I actually threw. If I haven't tried something, I don't rank it.
Posts update over time as spots change, close, or improve. When that happens, the update date changes and the reasoning is disclosed.
